A Notary Public, formally known as a 'Notarial Services Attorney' in Thailand, is a lawyer granted a special license by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. They act as an impartial witness to certify facts occurring in their presence, such as verifying the identity of a signatory, attesting to the authenticity of a signature, or certifying that a copy is a true reproduction of an original document. เอกสารและขั้นตอน
เอกสารหลักที่จำเป็นต้องเตรียมมาในวันนัดหมาย มีดังนี้ครับ:
1. เอกสารยืนยันตัวตนฉบับจริง: บัตรประจำตัวประชาชน หรือ หนังสือเดินทาง (Passport) ที่ยังไม่หมดอายุ ของผู้ที่ต้องลงนามหรือเจ้าของเอกสาร
2. เอกสารที่ต้องการรับรอง: เอกสารฉบับจริงที่ท่านต้องการให้เรารับรอง เช่น หนังสือมอบอำนาจ, สัญญา, หรือใบสมัครต่างๆ
3. เอกสารต้นฉบับ (กรณีรับรองสำเนา): หากท่านต้องการรับรองสำเนาถูกต้อง (Certified True Copy) ท่านจำเป็นต้องนำเอกสารต้นฉบับมาให้เราตรวจสอบเปรียบเทียบด้วยทุกครั้ง

The primary documents required for your appointment are:
1. Original Identification: A valid, unexpired ID card or Passport of the person signing or the document owner.
2. The Document to be Notarized: The actual document you need us to certify, such as a Power of Attorney, contract, or application form.
3. The Original Document (for copy certification): If you need a Certified True Copy, you must bring the original document for comparison.

No, this is not possible. A fundamental principle of notarization is the verification of authenticity, which cannot be done from copies, scans, or photos.
- For Signature Certification: The signatory must sign the physical document in the notary's presence.
- For Certified True Copies: You must present the "original" document so the notary can compare it against the copy before certifying that copy.

- กรณีรับรองลายมือชื่อ (Signature Certification): ผู้ลงนาม จำเป็นต้องมาด้วยตนเองเสมอ เพื่อลงนามต่อหน้าทนายความ Notary Public ไม่สามารถมอบอำนาจให้ผู้อื่นมาลงนามแทนได้ เพราะหัวใจของการรับรองคือการยืนยันว่าบุคคลนั้นๆ ได้ลงนามด้วยตนเองจริง
- กรณีรับรองสำเนาถูกต้อง (Certified True Copy): เจ้าของเอกสารไม่จำเป็นต้องมาด้วยตนเอง สามารถให้ผู้อื่นนำ "เอกสารต้นฉบับ" มาให้เรารับรองสำเนาแทนได้
It depends on the service type:
- For Signature Certification: The signatory must always appear in person to sign before the Notary Public. This cannot be delegated, as the core purpose is to verify that the individual signed the document themselves.
- For Certified True Copies: The document owner does not need to be present. Another person can bring the "original document" on their behalf for us to certify a copy.

Documents notarized in Thailand are widely accepted in principle. However, requirements vary by country. Some may require further legalization steps:
- Consular Legalization: The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs certifies the notary's signature and seal.

The answer is "it depends on the requirements of the receiving party." For official Thai documents translated into English for use abroad, it is almost always necessary to have them legalized by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after notarization. This completes the full legalization process. However, for some private business-to-business documents, notarization alone may suffice. We strongly advise checking with the receiving party or consulting with us for clarity.
