Internship & Legal Training Program
Shaping Future Leaders | Practical Notarial & Visa Law | Mentorship
Why intern with NYC Translation & Notary Services?
The Opportunity:
At NYC, we don't hire interns to make coffee. We hire future colleagues. Our Internship & Legal Training Program is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the fast-paced reality of international legal practice. Interns gain direct, hands-on experience in Notarial Law, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Legalization, Visa Processing, and Cross-Border Contracts. You will be mentored by senior attorneys licensed by the Lawyers Council of Thailand, learning not just the 'what' but the 'how' of navigating Thai bureaucracy and international standards.
- Mentorship: 1-on-1 guidance from Senior Notarial Attorneys.
- Real Work: Draft affidavits, prepare visa applications, and visit government offices.
- Certification: Official Certificate of Legal Training upon completion.
- Career Path: Fast-track hiring for high-performing interns.
Unshakeable Authority: Learn from the Best
A Registered Law Firm & Educational Institution
NYC is unique. We are a registered legal entity (Reg No: 0435567000061) managed by the NYC+ LANGUAGE SCHOOL group. This dual identity means education is in our DNA. We don't just process documents; we teach the logic behind them. As an intern, you are part of a regulated professional environment, learning the ethical standards required by the Lawyers Council of Thailand while gaining the practical business acumen of a successful private firm.

Legal Knowledge Hub: Program Curriculum
A structured approach to learning the practice of law.
1. Module A: Notarial Practice & Ethics
You will learn the difference between "Witnessing" and "Notarizing." We teach you how to verify identity documents (Passports/IDs) to prevent fraud. You will understand the liability of a Notarial Services Attorney and why "Rubber Stamping" is dangerous. You will practice drafting Notarial Certificates for various international jurisdictions (USA, UK, EU).
2. Module B: The MFA Legalization Chain
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is the heart of international document processing. You will learn the entire lifecycle: from preparing the application form, ensuring translation accuracy, to physically submitting documents at the Dept of Consular Affairs. You will understand why documents get rejected and how to fix them.
3. Module C: Visa & Work Permit Systems
Immigration law is complex and constantly changing. You will learn the specific requirements for Non-Immigrant B (Business), O (Family), and ED (Education) visas. You will assist in preparing "Visa Pouch" applications, auditing financial proofs, and understanding the "WP3" process for Work Permits at the Ministry of Labour.
4. Module D: Legal Translation Techniques
Accurate translation is the foundation of our work. You will be trained in "Legal English" and "Official Thai." You will learn the standard administrative terminology required by the MFA (e.g., correct translation of "Amphur", "Moo", "Tambon"). You will practice translating Birth Certificates, Affidavits, and Court Orders.
5. Module E: Client Management & Consultation
Law is a service industry. You will learn how to conduct initial client interviews, identify their legal needs, and propose solutions. You will observe how senior lawyers manage difficult clients and ethical dilemmas. Communication skills are emphasized, particularly in explaining complex Thai laws to foreign clients.
6. Module F: Corporate Registration (DBD)
You will learn the practical steps of registering a company. This includes reserving a company name, drafting the MOA (Memorandum of Association), preparing the shareholders' list (Bor.Or.Jor. 5), and filing with the Department of Business Development. You will understand the implications of the Foreign Business Act.
7. Module G: Police Clearance & Background Checks
Many clients need Criminal Record Checks (CID) for working abroad. You will learn the procedure at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters: fingerprinting requirements, document checklists, and how to expedite the process for urgent cases.
8. Module H: Family Law Documentation
You will assist in drafting Prenuptial Agreements, Divorce Agreements, and Wills. You will learn the difference between a "Public Document Will" (Amphur) and a "Private Document Will" (Lawyer). You will understand the concept of "Conflict of Laws" in international marriages.
9. Module I: Professional Responsibility
We instill a strong sense of professional duty. You will learn about client confidentiality, data privacy (PDPA), and conflict of interest. We discuss real-world scenarios where ethical lines are blurred and how to maintain integrity.
10. Module J: Legal Tech & Office Management
Modern law firms rely on technology. You will learn to use our Case Management System, digital calendaring for court dates/visa renewals, and secure document archiving. Efficiency and organization are key skills for any successful lawyer.
WARNING: Avoid "Coffee Shop" Internships
Not all internships are created equal. Don't waste your time.
- The "Go-fer" Trap: Many firms use interns solely for running errands, buying coffee, or photocopying. At NYC, while admin work is part of any job, our focus is on substantive legal training.
- Unsupervised Work: Some firms throw interns into the deep end without guidance, leading to mistakes and stress. We pair every intern with a mentor.
- No Verification: An internship without a certificate or reference letter is hard to prove to future employers. We provide official documentation of your training.
Choose a program that invests in YOU.
