Marriage registration in Thailand for foreign nationals: documents and correct order
A foreign national marrying in Thailand normally needs an affirmation of freedom to marry from their embassy, translated into Thai and legalised by the Department of Consular Affairs, before the district office will register the marriage. Both parties attend with identification and, where required, an interpreter. Preparation commonly takes about 3–10 working days before the registration appointment.

An adviser, not just a filing agency
Our team has worked on Thai document, translation, legalisation and visa cases for more than 15 years. Before we file anything we review your documents, tell you which route the receiving authority actually accepts, and flag the parts that commonly fail — so you are advised, not just served.
Prefer not to deal with the paperwork? We can run the whole case
- If you are on a short trip, we sequence embassy, translation and district appointments so nothing is wasted.
- We supply an interpreter for the registration where the district office requires one.
- Post-registration translation and legalisation for your home country continue in the same case.
Send the details of your case first. We will confirm the exact document list and the realistic timeline before any work starts.
Requirements are based on published rules of the relevant authorities and can change. Always confirm with the receiving party before filing.
