Notarial Services Attorney in Thailand: what to bring and how the signing works

A Notarial Services Attorney certifies a signature, a true copy or a declared fact in front of a licensed attorney. The signer must appear in person with valid photo identification and must not sign the document beforehand. A straightforward set usually takes about 30–60 minutes, and many recipients then require consular or embassy legalisation on top.

Approximate total time: approximately 30–60 minutes per set, excluding onward legalisation

Documents to prepare

  • Unsigned document to be notarised always required

Sign only in front of the attorney; a pre-signed page is normally rejected.

  • Valid passport or ID of every signer always required

Must be unexpired and match the name printed in the document.

  • Recipient's instructions always required

Says whether a jurat, acknowledgement or certified true copy is needed.

  • Company registration and director list case by case

Required when signing for a legal entity.

  • Board resolution or power of attorney case by case

Proves the signer's authority to bind the company.

  • Original of any document copied as a true copy case by case

The attorney must see the original to certify the copy.

Step-by-step process

  1. 1. Confirm the certification type

Ask the recipient whether they need a signature certification, a true copy or a sworn declaration.

    Duration: about 1 hour

  2. 2. Prepare identification and authority papers

Collect passports and, for companies, the resolution or power of attorney.

    Duration: about 1 day

  3. 3. Appear before the attorney

All signers attend together and sign in the attorney's presence.

    Duration: about 30–60 minutes

  4. 4. Attorney certifies and records the act

The certificate is issued with the attorney's registration details for verification.

    Duration: about 30 minutes

  5. 5. Proceed to legalisation if the recipient requires it

Many overseas recipients ask for consular and then embassy legalisation after notarisation.

    Duration: about 2–7 working days

An adviser, not just a filing agency

Our team has worked on Thai document, translation, legalisation and visa cases for more than 15 years. Before we file anything we review your documents, tell you which route the receiving authority actually accepts, and flag the parts that commonly fail — so you are advised, not just served.

Prefer not to deal with the paperwork? We can run the whole case

  • If you do not want a rejected signature page, we confirm the required certification wording with the recipient before the appointment.
  • We prepare the corporate authority documents so a company signing is completed in a single visit.
  • Onward consular or embassy steps are arranged in the same case file, with status updates as it moves.

Send the details of your case first. We will confirm the exact document list and the realistic timeline before any work starts.

Requirements are based on published rules of the relevant authorities and can change. Always confirm with the receiving party before filing.
