Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Notary Public in Thailand?
A: A Notary Public in Thailand is a licensed attorney authorized by the Lawyers Council of Thailand to authenticate signatures, certify true copies, administer oaths, and prepare statutory declarations for use domestically and internationally.
Q: Is Thai Notary Public recognized internationally?
A: Yes. Documents notarized by a Thai Notary Public can be further legalized via MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the destination country's embassy. For Hague Convention countries (128 nations as of Dec 2568/2025), an Apostille replaces the embassy step.
Q: What documents can be notarized?
A: Power of Attorney, Affidavits, Statutory Declarations, Consent to Travel for minors, Company documents (Board Resolutions, Shareholder Minutes), Contract signatures, Certified True Copy of passports/degrees/certificates, and Witnessing of signatures.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: Standard notarization: 15–30 minutes once documents are reviewed. Same-day service is available for urgent requests (+500 THB express fee). Walk-in accepted at Bangkok office (Mon–Sat 09:00–18:00).
Q: Do I need to appear in person?
A: Yes for signature witnessing and sworn statements. For Certified True Copies of documents you already hold, a representative can present originals on your behalf in some cases — consult first.
Q: What is the difference between Thai Notary Public and Sworn Translator?
A: Notary Public certifies signatures and true copies; Sworn Translator (e.g., MoJ Thailand, NAATI Australia, or European system Sworn Translators) certifies the accuracy of translations. Many clients need both for international use.
Q: Can you notarize documents in English?
A: Absolutely. Our attorneys handle English documents daily for multinational clients, expats, and global filings. We also certify bilingual Thai-English documents.
Q: What is the cost of Notary Public services?
A: Starting from 500 THB per signature. Certified True Copy from 300 THB. Affidavit drafting from 1,500 THB. POA drafting from 2,500 THB. See full price list below.
