Q: Is there a real Notary Public in Thailand?
A: Thailand does not have a common-law Notary Public system. Instead, the Lawyers Council of Thailand licenses attorneys as 'Notarial Services Attorneys' who can notarize signatures, certify true copies, and administer oaths (Regulation B.E. 2546/2003). Q: Is Thai notarization recognized abroad?
A: Yes — through the standard legalization chain: Notarial Attorney → Thai MFA → destination embassy. Thailand acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027 (source: HCCH); until that date the embassy legalization chain still applies.
Q: What documents can you notarize?
A: Powers of Attorney, Affidavits/Statutory Declarations, Certified True Copies of passport/degree/certificates, signature witnessing on international contracts, board resolutions, consent to travel for minors, sponsorship letters, life certificates, and more.
Q: Do I need to come to your office?
A: Yes — under Thai law, you must sign in person before the Notarial Attorney (no remote notarization). We offer mobile notary service across Bangkok and greater Bangkok area.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Notarial signature: THB 1,500–2,500. Certified true copy: THB 500+ per page. Affidavit/POA: THB 3,500–8,000. Add MFA legalization (THB 2,500+) and embassy fee (THB 5,000+) if required.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Notarization: same-day (walk-in with appointment). MFA legalization: 2 business days (or same-day express). Embassy: varies by country, typically 3–15 business days.
Q: What ID do I need?
A: Original passport (mandatory). We must physically see the passport to verify identity. Copies are not accepted.
Q: Do you provide English-language notarization?
A: Yes — all our Notarial Certificates are issued bilingually (Thai + English) by default. Additional languages available on request.
